Brann - Lillestrøm 3-0 (1-0) Brann stadion Att: 9848 1-0 Trond Egil Soltvedt (2) 2-0 Frank Strandli (50) 3-0 Strandli (78) Yellow card: Frank Strandli, Brann. - Brann look like a good bet for the title at this stage after a convincing win against LSK. Strandli got his first two league goals for Brann, with topscorer Soltvedt getting his third of the season. Lillestrøm have big problems at the moment. They're without a win in their first three matches. (And I've unofficially tipped them as champions this season :-( ) Rosenborg - Sogndal 1-0 (0-0) Lerkendal stadion Att: 11 276 1-0 Bent Skammelsrud (47) - The expected home win for the reigning champion, against the visitors who are still without a goal. However, the game was closer than expected, as RBK played way below par. Still it was good enough for a win, which keeps them at the joint top spot. Strømsgodset - Start 1-1 (0-0) Marienlyst stadion Att: 5476 1-0 Frode Johannessen (48) 1-1 Tommy Svindal Larsen (57) Yellow card: Espen Horsrud, Ousman Nyan, Strømsgodset, Pål Lydersen, Tore Løvland, Start. Red card: Espen Horsrud, Strømsgodset, Pål Lydersen, Start. - Start are, together with Lillestrøm, the major disappointment so far. Their flair and technical style don't appearantly suit the wet and bumby grounds in Norway in April (or is it perhaps vice versa). The home side could easily have won this one. Besides taking the lead they had two shots at the crossbar, before Start equalized. The game produced two red cards, both after two bookable offenses. Tromsø - Hamarkameratene 2-0 (0-0) Alfheim stadion Att: 4578 1-0 Sigurd Rushfeldt (64) 2-0 Rushfeldt (90) Yellow card: Stein Are Andreassen, Kazimierz Sokolowski, Tromsø, Ole Petter Skonnord, Hamarkameratene. Red card: Ole Petter Skonnord, Hamarkameratene. - Sigurd Rushfeldt got two more goals as Tromsø got their first win of the season. The victory was fully deserved. Hamkam did almost nothing and to top it all, had Skonnord sent off after two yellow cards. BTW this was the 5th sending off this season. Last year I think the total was less than 7 (don't remember exactly)! VIF Fotball - Kongsvinger 0-1 (0-1) Ullevaal stadion Att: 5686 0-1 Arnfinn Engerbakk (26) Yellow card: Arnfinn Engerbakk, Bjørn Arild Levernes, Kongsvinger. - This match was as grey as the weather. No imagination, no style, no good play from either side. KIL took an undeserved lead after half-an-hour and seemed content just to sit on that lead for the rest of the game. VIF had one shot at goal during the 90 mins, despite of a lot of posession. Let's hope that this match was not representative of VIF, and that they can find back to their good agressive play from the first two rounds. KIL showed nothing except from the goal, but still had no difficulty holding on to the lead. A sign of greatness ? Viking - Bodø/Glimt 4-2 (0-1) Stavanger stadion Att: 6534 0-1 Bent Inge Johnsen (14) 0-2 Runar Berg (46) 1-2 Gunnar Aase (50) 2-2 Kenneth Storvik (62) 3-2 Rune Stakkeland (87) 4-2 Egil Ulfstein (90) Yellow card: Bjørn Johansen, Viking, Andreas Evjen, Bodø/Glimt. - B/G looked like winners after Johnsen and Berg had given them a two-goal lead on two counter-attacks. But Viking never gave up, equalized, and scored two late goals to win the game. So the pattern from last year is still there: Viking win at home, but lose away. B/G on the other hand must worry about their defense. They have already let in 6 goals so far. Last year they had the tightest defense in the premier division. Did the retirement of Trond Sollied (now coach) really mean that much ?
