Brann - Molde 0-6 (0-4) Brann stadion Att: 9902 0-1 Sindre Rekdal (12) 0-2 Ole Bjørn Sundgot (24) 0-3 Sundgot (26) 0-4 Ole Gunnar Solskjær (28) 0-5 Arild Stavrum (pen. 83) 0-6 Solskjær (86) Yellow card: Knut Anders Fostervold, Tarje N. Jacobsen, Molde, Gunnar Norebø, Brann. Red card: Geirmund Brendesæther, Brann. - Disasterous opening for Brann, which further stretches the patience of their supporters. After the match there were already claims for the resignment of coach Thoresen, as well as the board. Molde, on the other hand got off to a flying start, lead by the three S's in attack: Solskjær, Sundgot and Stavrum. Amazingly, at the interval the players were ordered to "take it slowly in the second half" by coach Hareide, but still managed to score two more goals... Hamarkameratene - Tromsø 0-1 (0-0) Briskeby gressbane Att: 2708 0-1 Tore André Flo (73) Yellow card: Tom Henning Hovi, Hamarkameratene, Sigurd Rushfeldt, Tore André Flo, Tromsø. - Boring game in Hamar, which was decided by TIL new boy Flo. With his partner Rushfeldt out of form, and Hamkam out of class, this match was never going to be a classic. Hødd - Strindheim 1-1 (1-1) Høddvoll Att: 3219 1-0 Geir Televik (29) 1-1 Joachim Walltin (38) Yellow card: Kenneth Giske, Hødd, Vidar Evensen, Strindheim. - This encounter between two of the promoted teams certainly was labelled as a B-match, and the players didn't do much to suggest otherwise. These teams are both considered as favourites for the drop, and based on this match, this is not entirely unjustified. Lillestrøm - Start 3-1 (1-1) Åråsen stadion Att: 7892 0-1 Petter Belsvik (19) 1-1 Ståle Solbakken (pen. 30) 2-1 Tom Guldbrandsen (64) 3-1 Helge Bjønsaas (o.g. 67) Yellow card: Erik Mykland, Start, Geir Frigård, Lillestrøm. - Two of the pre-season favourites met at Åråsen. The visitors actually had the better of the play, but the home side was more efficient. Stabæk - VIF Fotball 0-2 (0-1) Nadderud stadion Att: 7762 0-1 Kent Bergersen (16) 0-2 Knut Aga jr. (75) Yellow card: Christian Holter, Knut Holte, Tommy Svindal Larsen, Bjørn Viljugrein and André Flem, Stabæk. Red card: Bjørn Viljugrein, Stabæk. - I attended this match along with almost 8.000 others, which was almost too much for the tiny Nadderud stadium. When we arrived three quarters before the start, the main standing was already full, but we managed to squeeze in and actually enjoyed a good view of the game. VIF started the better and took the lead early on, after a good freekick combination between Riisnaes and Bergersen. This caused such jubilant scenes amont the VIF supporters, that one of the fences broke down, and play had to be stopped for five minutes. After the opening goal, the home side had a few chances, before perhaps the decisive moment of the game occured. Viljugrein tried to head the ball away from Bergersen, but instead only hit him in the forehead, and the VIF player went down, bleeding. At first, it seemed that the referee would only award a freekick, as Viljugrein had already been booked (rather harshly) minutes earlier. However, after receiving complaints from the VIF coach, he obviously changed his mind and gave Viljugrein his second yellow card of the day, and an early shower. This caused fury among the home supporters and at half time the ref was bombarded with bread(!). In the second half ten-men Stabæk dominated the first quarter, and had Kaasa only scored on one of his chances, things could have been entirely different. The home side should also perhaps have had a penalty after handball, but it wasn't that obvious. However, being one man short obviously left big holes in the defense, and gave VIF some excellent counter attacks. On one of those Aga scored from a very tight angle, completely surprising Friise in the Stabæk goal. After the match the ref had to be escorted from the field by two policemen. The home supporters felt that he had been biased throughout, which is backed by his distribution of the yellow and red cards. However the home side has no reason for being too depressed based on this first match ever in the top division alone. Although they lost, Stabæk will certainly be no pushovers. As for VIF, things are looking good. At times they played really well, especially taken the small field into account. On the broader Ullevaal, the play should get even better. Viking - Bodø/Glimt 6-0 (2-0) Stavanger stadion Att: 9491 1-0 Gunnar Aase (25) 2-0 Sander Solberg (36) 3-0 Solberg (51) 4-0 Egil Østenstad (57) 5-0 Aase (68) 6-0 Ingve Bøe (pen. 82) Red card: Petter Solli, Bodø/Glimt. - The second 6-0 trashing of the day happend in Stavanger, where the home side completely outplayed B/G, which also had a player sent off. That didn't explain the outcome though, as it happened when the score was already 5-0... Rosenborg - Kongsvinger 6-0 (4-0) Lerkendal Att: 10 790 1-0 Jahn Ivar Jakobsen (13) 2-0 Harald Brattbakk (21) 3-0 Jakobsen (36) 4-0 Bent Skammelsrud (38) 5-0 Skammelsrud (70) 6-0 Roar Strand (73) Yellow card: Charles Berstad, Arnfinn Engerbakk, Kongsvinger. - On Friday, the champions got off to a flyer, demolishing KIL 6-0 (popular result :-)). In fact the score could have been larger, had RBK taken fully advantage of all of their chances.
