Bodø/Glimt - Skeid 4-1 (2-1) Att: 1795 0-1 Freddy dos Santos (2) 1-1 Christian Berg (21) 2-1 Jan Derek Sørensen (38) 3-1 Tom Kåre Staurvik (54) 4-1 Thor Mikalsen (65) Yellow card: Kim Larsen, Skeid. - The match had to played indoors in Nordlandshallen, because of the bad weather in Bodø lately. Obviously the game itself meant nothing to either team, but at least the audience were treated with two spectacular long-range efforts from Staurvik Mikalsen. Skeid are relegated and have been playing like that for the whole season. Haugesund - Lillestrøm 1-0 (0-0) Att: 3557 1-0 Steinar Pedersen (o.g. 83) Yellow card: Steinar Pedersen, Magnus Kihlstedt, Lillestrøm - Another gave that meant nothing to either side, but the home win at least placed FKH above LSK in the final table. Who would have though that at the start of the season? In midweek coach Even Pellerud was given to boot becuase of his team's lousy season, but he still was in charge for this game. Lyn - Tromsø 4-0 (2-0) Att: 911 1-0 Sture Fladmark (pen. 16) 2-0 Jo Tessem (31) 3-0 Tommy Nilsen (55) 4-0 Tessem (57) Yellow card: Magnus Aasbrenn, Lyn, Ole Martin Årst, Stein Berg Johansen, Tromsø. - A pathetic display by TIL sent them, and not Sogndal, to the relegation playoff against Eik-Tønsberg. The visitors played without desire and will to win, and deservedly lost against a home side which went down with the flags up. Once Lyn had taken the lead on a disputed penalty, the visiting heads went down, and although TIL brought on two more attacking players after only 35 minutes, and tried to stage a second half recovery, it was no way back. In the end, Lyn could easily have scored a couple of more goals, as TIL went into pieces. With such a display against Chelsa on Thursday, Tromsø will be murdered. Rosenborg - Molde 2-1 (1-1) Att: 11 583 0-1 Knut Anders Fostervold (4) 1-1 Sigurd Rushfeldt (20) 2-1 Bent Skammelsrud (79) Yellow card: Odd Inge Olsen, Molde. - Molde took the lead and looked like bronze medalists for a long time, until the champions managed to turn the game around. In the end a UEFA cup place was all that Molde had to be content with, and the words from RBK coach Eggen, that Molde had been the best team to have visited Lerkendal this season. Accidentlu, this was Eggen's last league game as RBK coach. Now, all that is left is four games in the Champions League, which will be a fitting end to Norway's best club coach of the last decade. Sogndal - Kongsvinger 2-1 (0-0) Att: 1333 1-0 Rune Buer Johansen (48) 1-1 Trym Bergman (57) 2-1 Bent Apneseth (69) Yellow card: Vidar Evensen, Kongsvinger, Ståle Bokslrud, Sogndal. - Unbeliveably, Sogndal managed to escape the relegation playoff. A deflected goal 20 minutes from time, coupled with the unexpected win by Lyn, settled the issue. Stabæk - Brann 0-1 (0-0) Att: 5465 0-1 Mons Ivar Mjelde (77) Yellow card: André Flem, Stabæk. - In front of a couple of thousand Brann supporters, the visitors won the silver medals with a late goal by Mjelde. Stabæk missed out on both medals and the UEFA Cup, unless Strømsgodset win the cup final. In the end Brann finished 11 points behind RBK, which is 7 less than in 1996. Can we hope for an even tighter fight in 1998? Viking - Strømsgodset 1-3 (0-0) Att: 4036 0-1 Rune Hagen (54) 1-1 Vegard Skogheim (56) 1-2 Kenneth Karlsen (81) 1-3 Espen Horsrud (89) Yellow card: Thomas Pereira, Ganiyu Owolabi, Martin Knudsen, Viking, Pål Skistad, Kenneth Karlsen Strømsgodset. Red card: Kenneth Karlsen, Strømsgodset. - A UEFA cup place and bronze medals were just reward for SIF after a very good season. And next Sunday, the icing on the cake: the cup final against Vålerenga. Tough, defender Karlsen will not play in that game after being sent off for two bookable offences two minutes from time. Hard luck. Viking symphtomatically finished with a home defeat, in what had been their worst season for some time.
