Brann - Rosenborg 2-6 (1-2) Brann stadion Att: 19.051 0-1 Bent Skammelsrud (pen. 14) 0-2 Frode Johnsen (pen. 24) 1-2 Tomas Razanauskas (45) 1-3 F. Johnsen (62) 1-4 Bent Inge Johnsen (70) 1-5 Ørjan Berg (79) 2-5 Thorstein Helstad (90) 2-6 F. Johnsen (90) Yellow card: Raymond Kvisvik, Geirmund Brendesæter, Brann, Bent Inge Johnsen, Rosenborg. - Rosenborg are champions again, for the 10th time in a row. In the decisive match in front of the biggest crowd of the season the defending champions showed why they are superior in Norway, scoring two early penalty goals and then adding four more after the break, a couple of them really good. Brann gave them a good fight until 1-3 but with little to play for faded in the end. The only consolation for the home team was that Helstad finished top scorer for the second season running. But he had to share the honour with Frode Johnsen of RBK and Australian Zane of Lillestrøm. Lillestrøm - Tromsø 3-1 (2-0) Åråsen stadion Att: 11.725 1-0 Gylfi Einarsson (7) 2-0 Arild Sundgot (11) 2-1 Karim Essediri (58) 3-1 Clayton Zane (74) Yellow card: Jonny Hanssen, Svein Morten Johansen, Tromsø. - LSK did what they had to do, beating Tromsø with ease, but as the RBK goals ket coming in Bergen it was of no use. Still, an excellent season for the yellow and black which really pressed the champions to the wire. TIL, on the other hand, have to step down to the second level for the first time since their promotion 16 years ago. The most dramatic event happened at half time when a parachute jumper crashed through(!) the roof of the main stand which halted the restart for 30, minutes. Luckily he only suffered small bruises. It could have gone far worse. Lyn - Bryne 1-3 (1-1) Ullevaal stadion Att: 2954 0-1 Dejan Pavlovic (20) 1-1 Helgi Sigurdsson (41) 1-2 Pavlovic (74) 1-3 Pierre Gallo (pen. 90) Yellow card: Mohammed Ouseb, Stephen Laybutt, Lyn, Jonas Jonsson, Lasse Strand, Geir Atle Undheim, Bryne. - Bryne did their job, beating Lyn at Ullevaal, to make sure of a place in the play-off. Swede Pavlovic scored two goals and was fouled for the penalty. In this game Bryne started with 6 Swedes in the line-up, and even a Swedish coach! They should be relegated for that reason only :-) Odd Grenland - Strømsgodset 4-2 (2-1) Odd stadion Att: 4159 1-0 Espen Hoff (29) 2-0 Christian Flindt Bjerg (30) 2-1 Jostein Flo (31) 3-1 Flindt Bjerg (53) 3-2 Stefan Gislasson (73) 4-2 Kim Larsen (88) Yellow card: Morten Fevang, Odd, Vidar Evensen, Tamas Szekeres, Strømsgodset. - A typical game for SIF in the 2001 season. The visitors had their chances but defensive mistakes allowed Odd to score some easy goal. When you concede 73 goals in 26 matches you can't expect to stay up, consequently SIF are relegated after only one season in the top flight. Dane Flindt Bjerg scored two excellent free-kick goals for the home side whereas old guard Jostein Flo scored his 14th for the visitors, but it wasn't enough. Sogndal - Bodø/Glimt 3-2 (2-0) Fosshaugane stadion Att: 966 1-0 Rune Bolseth (19) 2-0 Kurt Heggestad (26) 3-0 Bolseth (pen. 52) 3-1 Trond Fredrik Ludvigsen (66) 3-2 Thomas Breivik (72) Yellow card: André Hansen, Eivind Eriksen, Bengt Sæternes, Bodø/Glimt, Rune Eckhoff, Sogndal. - A match of no significance in front of the smallest crowd of the season. In the end Sogndal capped an excellent season as newcomer by winning 3-2 and finishing 8th on 32 points. Stabæk - Moss 2-1 (1-1) Nadderud stadion Att: 3592 0-1 Kjell Olofsson (27) 1-1 Tryggvi Gudmundsson (40) 2-1 Martin Andresen (90) - A goal in overtime by Andresen made sure Stabæk finished fourth and will qualify for the UEFA Cup if Viking win the cup final. But as usual the home team struggled against supposedly worse opponents, something that much chance if the home team are to challenge RBK in 2002. Viking - Molde 1-1 (0-1) Stavanger stadion Att: 5610 0-1 Andri Sigthorsson (pen. 21) 1-1 Erik Nevland (90) Yellow card: Thomas Pereira, Viking, Peter Christian Singsaas, Molde. - Molde had a firm grip of the 4th position until Nevland equalized in then last minute, and Stabæk took the lead against Moss. A disappointing end to a disappointing season for Molde. Viking finished third and have qualified for Europe regardless of the outcome of the cup final, after a pretty good season when the team from Stavanger challenged Rosenborg for many months.
