- An excellent result for Viking, which are now almost certain 
  to go through to the next round. After soaking up the home 
  pressure in the first half, they gradually took over in the
  second and scored two important away goals.

- Brann made it difficult for themselves in the return leg, when they
  allowed the Bulgarian side to get a important away goal 10 minutes
  from time. This was totally unnecessary, as the home team had 
  clearly dominated the whole game until then. In the first half alone,
  Brann should easily have doubled their scoring. Now they face a
  difficult task in Burgas next week.

- Viking, with half their squad injured or suspended, just managed 
  to sneak through to the next round. The Yugoslavs got the early
  goal and dominated the 120 minutes. However, Thomas Myhre saved
  the day when he stopped the last Vojvodina penalty.

- Geir Hasund once more proved the deciding factor in a European game.
  In front of a very noisy crowd, he scored two very important away

  done against a tough opponent.
