- No chance for injury-hit Viking, which managed to contain their Swiss
  opponents for one half, but eventually let in three goals without reply
  after the break. The chances of turning this around in Stavanger are bleak.

- Brann had also litte to offer against their Swiss opponents. Like Viking
  the managed to keep it goalless at half time, but also like Viking 
  let in three goals after the break. Especially the last one shortly before 
  full time could prove decisive.

- LSK surprised everybody with a strong away win in Minsk. Hero was 
  their new Senegalean striker, Diallo, who scored both goals. Unless
  they manage to make a meal out of it in the return game, at least one
  Norwegian team should advance to the UEFA Cup first round proper.

- Diallo struck once more, and sent LSK through to the next round.
  The Belarus team could easily have gone in front in the early
  stages, when they hit the woodwork, but in the second half 
  there was no doubt about the outcome.

- This contest died once Kunze gave the Swiss the lead. Viking
  managed to fight back and at least win the game, but that was

- A brave fightback by Brann, which got the important two goal lead
  in the first half. In the second they attacked without stop, but 
  couldn't get the third goal which would send the game into extra
  time. If only Brann had scored a goal in Switzerland, they would have
  gone through.. A pity, especially as the Swiss were no better than the 
  Norwegians over the two legs.
