- If Viking had any hopes of turning this tie around, they were quickly
  shattered when John Carew scored on an excellent solo effort after 
  5 minutes. The rest of the match was rather academic, with the home side
  happy to sit on their lead. They allowed the visitors to save some of their
  pride when Skogheim scored, but a recovery was never in question. 
  Over 11.000 turned up at Bislett, which was impressive given the outcome
  of the first leg and that the game was shown live on national TV.

- SIF made it through to the final after a nervy second leg against B/G.
  When Flo scored his second to make it 3-0, the home side looked like
  coasting through, but the sending off of Nyan couple with the goal by
  Sørensen made things very different. In the end SIF were very happy to
  hear the final whistle, as they had been under severe pressure for the
  last quarter. But B/G never got closer than a shot against the post and
  some nice saves by SIF keeper Hansen. So, for the first time since 1985
  both cup finalist will be from Eastern Norway at Ullevaal on October 26.
