Match report ------------ As I didn't watch the game myself, this report will be short. Appearantly, France dominated the game until Zidane left the field. Then. things got more even. but based on chances France should have won this game. Norway had 4-5 opportunities and scored 3 goals! The first after an inexplicable hand ball in the penalty area by Blanc, and subsequent conversion by Strandli. The second after a long free-kick was headed into the path of Flo, who directed the ball into the net with his head. And the third after good work by sub Riseth on the left hand side, and his cross was with a first-time shot by another sub Heggem. Still this wasn't enough for a win, as France almost immediately scored the tying goal on the stroke of full time. Of the players, Grodås had a reasonable game in goal, after spending 9 months on the substitute bench at Chelsea and Tottenham. The defence was not so good, as three goals against should testify. Bohinen had his first game in the national team for some years, but didn't impress enough to be selected the next time. Rudi was weak, and his replacement Riseth was much better. Heggem got his international debut, and didn't look out of it at all. Next game will be against Belguim in a month when more testing of players and combinations are expected.
