In fact, the home team only levelled the score in injury time, and the win was very deserved. Two of Lyn's goal scorers were former Vålerenga players Haug and Kaasa. Lillestrøm - Haugesund 3-1 (1-0) Åråsen stadion Att: 1553 1-0 Heidar Helgusson (44) 1-1 Knut Ystaas (55) 2-1 Arild Sundgot (72) 3-1 Helgusson (81) Yellow card: Jarkko Wiss, Lillestrøm, Knut Ystaas, Steinar Lein, Haugesund. - Icelandic striker Helgusson was man of the match with two goals and an assist. The game was switch from Bislett because of the athletics. After 15 minutes the visitors could have been up by three. The home team gradually came back into the game, but had very difficulty breaking down a good Brann defence. In the end, the different class told, and the visitors scored two more goals, before allowing a late consolation. For Vålerenga, the rest of the season will be difficult, as they, like Viking, have only premier division survival to play for. Normally, that should be no problem, but with the current lack of self belief, nothing is certain. Brann, on the other hand, can only look forward to the rest of the season with joy. If not the home forwards had missed the easiest of chances, this game would have been over by half time.
