Match report ------------ An early goal by Iversen settled the outcome of this game, and improved Norway's chances of qualifying for Euro2000. Georgia defended very deeply which made it difficult for the home team to create clear chances. However, Iversen should have added another goal in the the second half, but his free header went just over the crossbar, when it looked easier to score. Georgia's best (and only) opportunity to score came from a Ketsbaia long range shot, which was well save by Olsen. The Norwegian goalkeeper had to step in due to an injury to Myhre, in the preparation for the game. Next game for Norway is away to Albania. Leonhardsen has already withdrawn from the squad as he doesn't feel comfortable playing in a country so close to the Kosovo region.
