Champions League, group F, round 1 (13/9) ================================== Rosenborg - Paris St. Germain 3-1 (1-1) Lerkendal stadion Att: 13.221 0-1 Dionisio Christian (7) 1-1 Ørjan Berg (18) 2-1 Frode Johnsen (62) 3-1 Bent Skammelsrud (pen. 90) Referee: Servan Oguz, Turkey. Yellow card: Edouard Cisse, Paris St. Germain. - A surprisingly good performance from RBK and a well-deserved win. The visitors started the brightest, but gradually RBK took over with quick, technical football. Especially after the break, PSG were outplayed. Champions League, group F, round 2 (19/9) ================================== Bayern München (Germany) - Rosenborg 3-1 (0-1) Olympiastadion Att: 20.000 0-1 Jan Derek Sørensen (38) 1-1 Carsten Jancker (73) 2-1 Giovane Elber (77) 3-1 Thomas Linke (79) Referee: Juan Antonio Fernandez Marin, Spain. Yellow card: Mehmet Scholl, Bayern München, Christer Basma, Ørjan Berg, Fredrik Winsnes, Rosenborg. - The game could easily have ended differently, had RBK converted one of their three big chances at 0-1 after the break. Unfortunately, they then allowed BM to score three easy goals in 7 minutes, which settled the game. Champions League, group F, round 3 (26/9) ================================== Rosenborg - Helsingborg (Sweden) 6-1 (2-0) Lerkendal stadion Att: 13.700 1-0 Frode Johnsen (21) 2-0 Johnsen (29) 3-0 Roar Strand (51) 4-0 Strand (52) 5-0 Stig Johansen (o.g. 65) 6-0 Johnsen (80) 6-1 Rade Prica (90) Referee: Jan Wegereef, Netherlands. Yellow card: Fredrik Winsnes, Rosenborg, Ulrik Jansson, Helsingborg. - In the battle of Scandinavia, there was only one participant, the home team. Helsingborg were completely outplayed from the first minute, and the winning margin could in fact have been larger. Another excellent performance from the Norwegians against a very weak visiting side. Still, the return in Sweden will most probably be difficult. Champions League, group F, round 4 (18/10) ================================== Helsingborg - Rosenborg 2-0 (1-0) Olympia Att: 12.587 1-0 Jesper Jansson (32) 2-0 Alvaro Santos (77) Referee: Valentin Ivanov, Russia. Yellow card: Nicklas Persson, Stig Johansen, Helsingborg, Frode Johnsen, Ørjan Berg, Bent Skammelsrud, Rosenborg. Red card: Erik Hoftun (73), Rosenborg. - Surprisingly, Rosenborg lost to Helsingborg in the second Scandinavian duel, after trashing the Swedes at home. A defeat which can prove very costly. Despite RBK dominating the first half, and missing several chances, HIF took the lead following a mistake by Basma. After the break, the visitors pressed for an equaliser, but when Hoftun was questionably sent off for a professional foul, HIF took control and soon scored the second. Champions League, group F, round 5 (24/10) ================================== Paris SG - Rosenborg 7-2 (4-2) Parc des Princes Att: 39.536 1-0 Frédéric Déhu (16) 2-0 Christian (25) 3-0 Nicolas Anelka (35) 3-1 Christer George (36) 3-2 George (38) 4-2 Peter Luccin (45) 5-2 Laurent Leroy (76) 6-2 Laurent Robert (pen. 87) 7-2 Anelka (90) Referee: José Maria Garcia-Aranda, Spain. Yellow card: Stéphane Dalmat, Paris SG, Ørjan Berg, Rosenborg. - Rosenborg crashed out of the Champions League after their heaviest defeat in Europe in 26 years. An embarassing display from the Norwegians, who were without captain Hoftun in defence, but that doesn't explain it all. The only bright spot was George who scored two good goals on his European debut. Now, RBK needs a point against Bayern to finish in third position and qualify for the UEFA Cup 3rd round. Champions League, group F, round 6 (8/11) ================================== Rosenborg - Bayern München 1-1 (1-0) Lerkendal Att: 13.965 1-0 Frode Johnsen (27) 1-1 Jens Jeremies (88) Referee: René Temmink, Netherlands. Yellow card: Willy Sagnol, Hasan Salihamidzic, Bayern München. - RBK needed a single point to keep their European season alive, and that's whay they got. In fact, it could easily have been three, as Bayern only equalised a few minutes from the end. This was very deserved though, after the Germans had dominated after the break. In the first half Johnsen had given the home team the lead with a powerful header off a corner. Now, Rosenborg face Spanish side Alaves in the UEFA Cup 3rd round.
